Today I Learned
« on: April 02, 2020, 05:27:59 pm »
Just did a fresh-minimal install on a Lenovo IdeaPad 110S (left Mint with ratposion to this let's see what happens). I connected to my WiFi without an issue; however, my internet wasn't really working well. My internet seemed to be slow or nonexistent for most of the time. Did an update && upgrade (several times). I did many reboots. Deleted and created new network configurations to my WiFi, that was as I said, connecting perfectly, but had no real data connection 'ping' had 50 to 60% packet loss.

Then! I realized I am on a Wooden PC mindset OS, didn't even look at what Linux Kernel it was running. So I figured instead of a 5Ghz WiFi connect let's try a 2.4Ghz connection... BOOM!!! I have running the internet. I am able to finally update && upgrade (all of it) and zero packet loss.

Moral: Fresh install, use the 2.4Ghz WiFi.
