Problem with installing Peppermint 10 32 bit
« on: August 21, 2019, 12:07:45 am »
Im running Peppermint 8 on my netbook (32 bit obviously). Downloading Peppermint 10 32-bit is fine but when I boot it from  the install, Im just presented with a black sceen which has flickered from a paisley grey then black screen? Pressing the powerbutton after a while simply shuts the computer down. I have an ISO of Peppermint 9 and that installs ok. Any clues?

What I have tried:
Downloading ISO with different browsers (Chromium and Firefox)
Burnt to USB with diff software (Peppermint's own USB writer, and Etcher)

Sounds like there's a regression with your hardware with the new kernel and graphics stack from the HWE (as used in PM10).

Can you post the output from:
Code: [Select]
inxi -Fz
from either PM8 or PM9

In a worst case scenario you could install PM9 and upgrade it to PM10 just without switching to the newer kernel and graphics stack from the HWE:,8442.0.html
