Like they said on BDLL, it doesn't matter what you "throw at it", it just works
Got that right, pin
Peppermint 9 - Linux 5.0.x - 2004 Dell Dimension 3000 PC (32bit PCI only) - Conky/ConkyWX
OpenGL NV98 Rendering - 1G Full Duplex w IPv6 & IPv4 connections - English Bob Wallpaper
No breakage joy to work on, but hey, you can't have it all...
EDITOh, I forgot. Peppermint 9 on top of Linux 5.0.x recognizes both optical drives AND floppies (with a little nudging).
Sweet

As an aside, I randomly picked that CD and floppy out of the closet and dusted them off, for testing.
The floppy was an ancient winders utility called LaunchOnFly. The CD was Debian 2.0 (pre-'
debian-installer').
I'm surprised the floppy still worked. Being a magnetic medium, it's subject to data rot and decay.
CDs, on the other hand, will probably outlast humanity, here on Earth.
That's why it's a better to use optical drives for backups than magnetic medium, but I digress...
