First encounter with Windows 10
« on: March 21, 2017, 12:42:41 pm »
I just had my first experience with Windows 10 what an utter shambles of an operating system, this was installed on my wifes laptop by a friend in her work so she could run web based ransomware to use a cutting machine,

This was done against my advice which was to sell the cutter and get one that would run on Linux with almost any software of her choice free or proprietary but instead she had the IT guy in her work wipe PM7 and install Windows 10

I told her if anything goes wrong take it back to your IT guy I want nothing to do with it but I relented and agreed to install one of our network printers for her, it took me no less than 20 minutes from start to finish and I didn't put a foot wrong I could have installed it in Linux in under 20 seconds then when it was over I had to ask her to shut it down for me I couldn't figure it out

Rant over

A polished turd comes to mind, all fur coat and no nickers, in continual need of your approval, with annoying pop-up's.

Too many restrictions, and must be linked to M$ account.

Sorted my sister's turd last year. After their annual update, all custom settings, i.e the menu and others were defaulted to factory, wtf.....!

Real choice, Hobson's choice.

My only encounters with Win10 have involved trying to help my grandma with her computer.  It was only slightly better than the time she wanted me to help her with her free upgrade from Win7 to 8.1. ::)

Nothing polished about this turd

I didn't want to be unfair or too disingenuous towards Microsoft.   ::)

But they are unrivalled world leaders, with their update, reboot and reconfiguration (Denial of Service) process.   ;)

The best in class as the premier virus and malware magnet, ever...!   ;)

Windows 10 is the best in its class for reverting back to a previous OS ;D
