Probably the best review of PM6 I've saw so far he definitely gets what it's about and put it over in a very easy to watch and listen to manner, shame he didn't give any mention to Ice but otherwise a very good and honest review I think.

I hope his cheque's in the post :)

[...] very easy to watch and listen to [...]

True !

While I do watch/listen to YT music videos in real time, I always speed up voice recordings.

This director/reviewer speaks so clearly you can easily listen to him @ +1.5

Kudos !!!

BTW, for those that don't know about the speed-up feature, it's available in the YT player control settings ...   8)

I didn't get what ICE was for when I first installed Peppermint 5 and I've still never tried using it. Some people are just suspicious of "the cloud" and it looked like a push in that direction. I removed it straightaway. Also at that time it only worked on Chromium and I was only interested in Firefox.

If you're effectively running several browsers at once does it not consume more memory? Chromium can be not that responsive if you have a lot of tabs open, I find.

Not sure why you'd consider it suspicious .. it's only the same as opening a web app in a web browser  :-\
(ice is not saving anything to the web unless the website itself does)

Ice SSB's use about the same memory as a single tab in your browser.

It also now supports Chromium / Chrome / Firefox.

It's just the way it was presented as something "remote" or "cloud". I'm saying I didn't have a clue what the point of it was and it's taken several months to understand by reading this forum.

It's simply a web browser without the clutter of tabs / menus / etc. so it *looks* like a local app .. it also integrates them into the system menus for the same reason.

If you trust something in your browser, you can trust it in an ice SSB .. if you can't trust it in your browser, don't trust it in an ice SSB either ;)

It's purely about making web apps / pages behave / appear in the same way as local apps .. but without the associated disk space usage.
