Is this an installed system or a live session? The reason I ask is, you usually don't use the CD ROM after the system is installed, you get everything from the online software repositories.

As for those warnings in general, you can get those occasionally, they typically indicate that a repository is temporarily down, and trying again later usually works.

Hi FERE,

Open synaptic package manager. Find the repository section and then untick any item that shows the CDRom - There should only be one entry. Let it refresh and that error should go away.

Regards Zeb...

Follow zebs suggestion.
If for some reason you still have a problem after doing so, please post the output of
Code: [Select]
cat /etc/apt/sources.list.d
and, possibly
Code: [Select]
cat /etc/apt/trusted.gpg.d

Okay what's happening here is - for some reason the CDROM didn't get disabled as a repository post installation, so let's disable it manually.

Go to:-

Menu > Settings > Software & Updates

When that opens, select the "Other Software" tab

Now REMOVE (untick) the tick from "cdrom:[Peppermint 9 (20180621) - Release amd64]/bionic"

Enter your password when prompted and hit the "OK" button.

Then click the "Close" button.

Then when prompted, the "Reload" button.

You should now be all set and no longer receive that error.

disable the pipelight repos too by the looks of things, same tab as cdrom

Yeah, remove the tick from the two lines that contain "pipelight"

Or even better, highlight the top line that contains "pipelight" and click the "Remove" button.
(which should remove BOTH lines)

It's been years since pipelight was needed for anything, and the reason there's nothing in the PPA for 18.04 (hence the error).

Hi FERE,

For future reference, could you please remember to mark the topic as [SOLVED] in the subject line of the original post. This will then help other users find answers to common problems. I've done this for you this time.  Many thanks   :)
