Title: Peppermint 8 sees wi-fi but Peppermint 9 does not
Post by: Sam25 on August 14, 2018, 02:47:08 pm
Hello -

I've just tried Peppermint 9 and it seems it can't see the wi-fi. It's a 4 year old laptop but Peppermint 8 wi-fi worked fine.
Any suggestions on how to revive the wi-fi?

Thanks!

Please read this posting

then include the information back here

And also mention if you're able to temporarily connect via an ethernet cable whilst we sort out your wireless ?

I did see the sticky but neither option (usb, pci) seemed like it applied to the built-in laptop wi-fi. I'm guessing it's the pci option. Perhaps including a note in the description would help other people post the correct info.

Unfortunately it seems I'm having other issues with Pep 9. File manager is denying access (something about "not uid 0").

This is beyond my ability to diagnose so I will stay with Pep 8.

Thanks for your efforts in making Peppermint!
