Hi Spence

the video stopped and buffered at 6:28 I had to move it forward a few seconds to get it started again otherwise it played perfectly

Interesting video :)

played perfect for me using windows 7 and firefox....  Someone forgot to turn the color on though it was all black and white...  Ooops my appologies I just seen it was 1906, and the world wasn't colored until the 60's... tee hee...  :)

Played fine for me too

Could be your wireless or internet connection, or possibly chromium/Aura or graphics driver issue.

See how it plays in Firefox.

later in the day, this played for me with no hiccups... dunno... watching the glorious dance of people, horses, cars, trolleys and delivery carts all moving harmoniously... not a traffic cop or traffic light in sight...

sigh...

In Chromium, it stopped buffering, thus playing at 2:59.

I opened it in Maxthon and it played beginning_to_end with no problem (looked better too - more density/contrast).

When I went back to Chromium, 12 minutes later, it was still frozen - now at 3:26.   8)

sigh...
You have to remember back then things were not really speedy, the horse and buggy was doing what like 3 mph the cars would run at maybe 15mph the trolly cars ran at maybe 10mph...  unlike today where in my residential neighborhood the speed limit is 25mph and almost everyone drives past my house at speed of 35 to 45mph some go as fast as 60mph, and my kid wonders why she can't ride her bike in the street without mommy or daddy standing out watching...

@ VinDSL .. which version of Chromiuum .. Aura/Non-Aura ?
and which flashplayer .. Adobe or Pepperflash ?

@spence .. you call that "harmoniously", I'd have said "chaotically" and a good example of why there ARE traffic lights etc. :)

Mesmerising to watch though.

That plays fine for me.  I'm not running the Aura Chrome though.  I'm using Google-Chrome Version 34.0.1847.137.  The Aura version(s) gave me all kinds of grief.  Vids not starting or, freezing.  Warnings about flash.  It threw the book of complains at me  >:(.  Running either the Chromium or Chrome Aura versions on my rig, renders everything unusable.  If you haven't already done so, maybe you should check out retrograding to Chromium 31 or, Chrome 34: How to Retrograde Chromium and Chrome Browsers (http://forum.peppermintos.com/index.php/topic,494.0.html).  Everything on my rig is now just chugging over nicely.  I would suggest it can't hurt to try.  There are instructions on how to undo the changes there too.

That was a really interesting video.  I had to think with the German because it looks very similar to Dutch.  Seeing that was an great example of a complex system in action.  Really very cool  8)!

yesterday I had sound, today i do not... late last night i did
Code: [Select]
sudo apt remove bluez
as well as
Code: [Select]
sudo apt remove update-manager
but seem to remember having sound after each bit of surgery[/color]

i'm using standard issue p5 w/Chromium Version 34.0.1847.116 Built on Ubuntu 14.04, running on Peppermint 5 aura (260972)  haven't installed any other browsers yet...

@spence .. you call that "harmoniously", I'd have said "chaotically" and a good example of why there ARE traffic lights etc. :)

Mesmerising to watch though.

recollecting some experiments done in Denmark and England back in the early 2000's where villages removed all traffic signs and lane markings... obliterated the difference between car lanes, parking lanes and sidewalks... and everyone magically slowed down... will have to do some searching to see if the changes stuck...

as an aside - don't recollect having to highlight each of my inserted queries to change the colors previously...

Now that I think about it, I DID NOT have hardware acceleration disabled yesterday, when I tested the vid above.

I just watched it again, beginning_to_end, with the default P5 Chromium browser with no probs (hardware accel disabled).

This is the command I use in the "Run" box (Peppermint main menu):  chromium-browser --disable-gpu

It buffered/played/looked exactly like it did yesterday, when I used Maxthon...   :)

love it rjm65 ... drivers mysteriously find synchronicity in the absence of traffic signs and signals... ;~)

... would rather like to see it in real time though... ;~)
