Title: install fail on amd ryzen x370
Post by: N.Zane on May 13, 2017, 02:11:54 pm
I'm running a Gigabyte K7 motherboard with the x370 chipset, motherboard version 1, bios is F2, 1700x with 32gigs ram.
Created a usb using rufus, which works fine on 3 other computers, so it isn't the usb stick or a bad image.
Using F12 at reboot, system sees the usb and allows me to select the  try peppermint live option.
After that it begins to load but then panics out before end of first screen with a lot of complaining about unknown hardware.
Stalls there and I have to do a hard shutdown and then cold boot back to win 10.

Has anyone else had any luck installing peppermint on the ryzen mobos ?
System is 64bit, and I do have the 64bit version of peppermint.
I did get fedora 25(lxde spin) to install successfully, but I would much prefer to have peppermint 7.

Any help, thoughts or ideas greatfully appreciated.

Do you know what kernel Fedora 25 is using ?

[EDIT]

According to goooooooogle it's probably on the 4.8 series .. in which case you may have to wait for Peppermint 8, the good news is it's close ;)
