Title: Nintendo 64 emulator on linux
Post by: Alex on May 11, 2016, 08:59:17 pm
Hi, everyone.
My little brother is trying PeppermintOS. He wants to play Nintendo 64 (?) emulator and how he reads comics on his PC. (I found MComix with a monkey icon(?!!!!)
I don't understand nothing about games.
How install and run?
Give me a little explanation how run games on Linux.
Thanks for the help. (I'm getting old...I miss windows 95 and real paper books  :D :D : )
Cheers.

Mupen64Plus is in the repositories.  You should be able to find it with either the Software Manager or Synaptic Package Manager.  As for how it runs, I don't remember.  It's been some time since I last ran it.  If I remember correctly, it works for most games but not all.  Though, I don't think any N64 emulator works for all games.  The N64 is a complex system and not easy to emulate.  The games are equally challenging.

Hi Alex,

Sorry, but I am the same as you: I too don't understand nothing about games. Scifidude79 is our resident games expert.  ;)

Alex, you are still young! You are getting old when, like me, you miss Windows 3.4 !!  :D

I miss the Atari 5200.  (at least I didn't say 2600 :P )  Fortunately, there are emulators for that, though.
