Title: Successfully mounting Android devices in Peppermint 3
Post by: xanadu on April 29, 2014, 10:29:09 pm
When I plug my Samsung Galaxy S4 into my computer, it automatically mounts, and I can see a folder structure, but there are no files in any of the folders. Also, in pcmanfm, there are 8 different entries for the device:

Do I need something additional to be able to view and modify the files on my Android device in Peppermint 3?

I tried a suggestion elsewhere involving mtpfs, but didn't have any luck.

Check out Airdroid.....free Google play app (file sharing, etc., via wifi)

Can't explain the pcmanfm behavior

I used AirDroid a few years ago, it was beta then, had limited functionality. I'll have to check it out again.

It has improved quite a bit recently.  I use it almost exclusively along with the occasional usb stick.

Yeah I agree with mac here

Airdroid is amazing it can do anything you can do with a wired connection and it's so easy to use and they've even recently added a theming application
