Try mounting them on different hardware, anything can be happening like a motherboard going out or a usb port going bad. I had a front panel usb port quit on me and it drove me nuts.

Hi MrGizmo, are you able to get into your bios and check/change settings in there?

Hardware / Re: Webcam troubles - Device not found

I have P 9 installed in my laptop along with Ubuntu 18.04, I booted into Ubuntu and while using Chromium browser I could make video calls in fb. Ubuntu has the 4,15 kernel installed. I booted up my P 10 installation usb stick and tried making a video call while in firefox and I was able to. P 10 has the 4.18 kernel so I installed that in P 9 and booted into it but still was unable to make video calls in any browser. Firefox wouldn't enable javascript which there was a note that it was needed for fb to work. So the only thing I can deduce is that P 9 won't recognize my camera and mic for fb.

Hi justalexander3, I also have a 2012 laptop, mine is a Samsung, and I have lost the ability to use my camera and mic for fb video chats. I think it might have something to do with the newer kernels because it did work before, I just don't remember when because I hardly used the laptop for video chats. I may have had P 7 installed back then and I think I had to have all the settings in Skype set correctly. I was thinking about installing P 7 back into it. but it's working so good with P 9 I hate to mess with it and, like I said, I don't use the laptop for video chats.

Software & Applications / Re: Synaptic Package Manager asks for password

Keep in mind, KEP3, that when you are asked for a password in the previous command, you will not "see" what you are typing, just type in your password and hit enter.

Hi straybit, I just installed it from the Software Manager and found it in Accessories listed as Backups. I am in P 9 though.

Hi stevesveryown, you can mention to him that Systemback only creates a Legacy booter so that may be why he can't get it to boot.

Hi Luckyvision, Yes you should install it on your harddrive and making it dual boot is easy. You can boot up your usb stick just like you've been doing and in the upper left corner there should be an icon to istall Peppermint, Read up on how to dual boot first so you don't screw anything up, Good luck.

Hi sontas78, if you don't use snap packages then no you don't need it. You could also probably remove apparmor also. I'ld also look into the hdd temp service also. Have fun.

Installation / Re: Update PM X to PM X respin
« on: July 04, 2020, 01:25:45 pm »
Hi LordKaan, I think you are asking how to upgrade P10 to P10 Respin, is that correct? If so, see
this post.
As you had metioned, a fresh install of P10 Respin may be easier and quicker. Good luck.
