I've not used disc cloning software very often so I'm no expert on the subject but when I have i've always used Redo Backup & Restore, it's never let me down and super easy to use

Hi. Does system updating in Linux mint or in peppermint os in dual boot can affect each other's system? I have done dual boot both Linux with mint and peppermint os so if I do system update from update manager in peppermint then does it affect Linux mint or if i do system update from update manager in Linux mint does it affect peppermint os?

Hi Lsandeep

The short answer is no in a dual boot configuration updating one system will not update the other, they are completely separate

Has this issue only occurred since you changed the image ?

is so what image format is it ie .jpg, .png etc ?

Hi whatfor

Welcome to the forum
Try this

Right click on the panel > from the drop down menu click Panel .> Panel Preferences > Under the Items tab > Highlight  Workspace Switcher > from the buttons on the right hand side click the second from bottom button (edit currently selected item)

Under the behaviour section make sure the box Switch workspaces using mousewheel is ticked as per screenshot

Good luck

Hi Jayne

Mark was more than just our team leader, he was a friend and an inspiration to us all, we all loved him and respected him and I have no words to adequately describe the sadness or how much we'll all miss him

From a personal standpoint please accept my sincere condolences

Lost for words

Installation / Re: Able to boot from, but not install from, LiveDVD
« on: January 20, 2020, 12:51:04 am »
Hi dcmarti1

Try the following instructions

Boot to the Peppermint 10 LiveCD/LiveUSB .. when you get to the screen where it offers you "Try Peppermint" and "Install Peppermint" ..  hit the "Tab" key

You'll then see some white writing at the bottom of screen that ends with

quiet splash --

Use the backspace key to remove quiet splash --

and replace it with nomodeset

then hit enter to continue booting.

Did that allow you to boot ?

Mark Greaves was indeed a good person, he was also a very private person who went to considerable lengths to conceal his identity online during his lifetime, I think we should respect that

Glad you made it public, Mark would have loved it especially the part where you say it's not perfect, in his own way he would have appreciated that

Thank you :)
