Played fine for me too

Could be your wireless or internet connection, or possibly chromium/Aura or graphics driver issue.

See how it plays in Firefox.

Place an image (.jpg or .png of around 90x90 but doesn't have to be exact) in your home folder .. then rename it to

no extension, and YES it must start with a "." .. so be aware, after renaming it, it will be hidden unless you have "Show Hidden" enabled in your file manager (Ctrl+H toggles "Show Hidden")

At least I'm "pretty" sure it can be a JPG .. I know PNG's work as that's what I use.

Networking / Re: Internet Disabled when I suspend the Computer.
« on: July 01, 2014, 10:02:41 am »
After coming out of suspend, try opening a teminal and running
Code: [Select]
nmcli nm sleep false
if that brings your wirelesss back to life .. continue below.

Open a terminal and run
Code: [Select]
sudo touch /etc/pm/sleep.d/
Code: [Select]
sudo chmod +x /etc/pm/sleep.d/
Code: [Select]
sudo gedit /etc/pm/sleep.d/
when a BLANK file opens, make it read:-
Code: [Select]
case "$1" in
nmcli nm sleep false
exit $?
SAVE the file, and exit gedit.

Now suspend/resume to test.

How did you install the gma500 driver ?

New Users / Re: Ethernet sharing via wifi on an old Imac.

It'll be a driver issue .. but there may be a proprietary driver available...

What's the output from:
Code: [Select]
sudo lshw -C network
Code: [Select]
lspci -vnn | grep -i net
Code: [Select]

So does that mean clementine is working without having to disable pulseaudio ?

Open  a terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T) and run these commands in sequence:
(probably best to copy/paste these commands into the terminal, then run them one at a time)
Code: [Select]
sudo bash -c 'echo "deb debian extra" >> /etc/apt/sources.list'
enter your password when prompted and hit enter .. then run:
Code: [Select]
sudo wget -O - | sudo apt-key add -
Code: [Select]
sudo apt update
Code: [Select]
sudo apt install suld-driver-4.01.17
When the terminal turns blue (offering to add your username to the lp group) .. hit the "Space Bar" (so there's a (*) next to your name .. then hit the "Tab" key so <OK> is highlighted red, then hit "Enter".

Once that finishes, Now try adding your printer again through

menu > System Tools > Printers

If prompted, choose this driver:-

Samsung > M262X 282X > Samsung M262X 282X Series [en] (Recommended)

You need to settle on a version of Peppermint and we'll try to help fix your problems .. but this is getting very confusing as it is.

Do you want to stick with Peppermint 4, or move to Peppermint 5 ?

Please let us know, then define the problems .. such as, when you say you tried installing a screensaver, what screensaver and how did you install it ?

I'm tending to agree with emegra .. if Peppermint5 only "crashed" when left alone for a while, I'd guess it was either light-locker or the xfce4-power-manager.

Which graphics drivers are you using ? .. what's the output from:
Code: [Select]
sudo lshw -C display

in xrandr you'd just add the
--rotate inverted

But the easiest way I've found for doing this is to install arandr:
Code: [Select]
sudo apt install arandr
then go to
menu > Preferences > ARandR

configure the monitor how you wish:
Outputs > <Your Screen> > Orientation > Inverted
then save the layout somewhere.:
Layout > Save As

that will create a script that you can autostart that contains the xrandr command you want.
(open it in a text editor if you want to see the xrandr command)

Cool .. thanks for that.

Point out it's her moral responsibility to get off XP ;)

Anyone still using XP are not only risking their own data .. they're putting everyone else on the net at risk.

When her PC becomes part of a bot net, it will likely be used remotely to attack other PC's and servers, probably with out your knowledge until you get a nasty letter from your ISP.

XP should not be used online any more .. indeed I'd be happier if Microsoft released one last update that disabled the XP network stack. :)

Key captch only has to be done once .. then you'll never see it again :)

Funny, I can always make out the pics .. I wonder if this is a resolution issue .. what resolution are you using ?
