You can do this by editing the FIRST posting in the topic and appending "(SOLVED)" to the subject line .. as in:-

First let's backup the lightdm.conf file:
Code: [Select]
sudo cp -v /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf.bak
now open lightdm.conf for editing:
Code: [Select]
sudo gedit /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf
and add the line

were <username> is your actual username.

SAVE the file .. reboot to test.

For clarity......

My username is mark

so here's the contents of my lightdm.conf

Try (with minetest NOT running) renaming the hidden .minetest folder (in your home folder):
Code: [Select]
mv -v ~/.minetest ~/.minetest-old
Now try starting minetest.

you can always copy it back with:
Code: [Select]
rm -rv ~/.minetest
Code: [Select]
cp -rv  ~/.minetest-old ~/.minetest

mp3gain is a command line tool .. if you want a GUI for it, also install easymp3gain-gtk:
Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get install easymp3gain-gtk

You'll then find it in the menu's at

menu > Sound & Video > easyMP3gain

Just download the file from the link .. then double-click it to install.

Watch the video :)

You don't see houses on the side of a GP circuit ;)

This is flat out on tuned superbikes (now faster than GP bikes) on normal roads

GP is for girls .. road racing is for guys with depleted uranium nuts .. no run off areas, no gravel traps, just 190mph instant death on the front wall of someone's house if you get it wrong ;)

Bruce Anstey is either a 24 carat nut job, or the bravest guy ever to sit on a bike .. can't make my mind up :)

Did anyone see Bruce Anstey's record breaking 132.298mph (average) lap of the greatest race on planet .. the Isle of Man TT (Superbike) ?

Here's a 2 minute taster:-

That's not the latest for 12.04 .. try this one:

Or add this PPA:

Code: [Select]
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:minetestdevs/stable
Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get update
Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get upgrade
that'll pull in the latest version.

Which version/architecture of Peppermint ?

Where did you get minetest, and how did you install it ?

Which version of minetest ?

Has it ever run properly .. ie. is this a new problem, or it's never run properly on this PC ?

OK, it doesn't need to be "installed" .. just "unpacked" and run.
(then possibly added to the menu's if you wish)

If you'd like to have it in your menu .. please provide the output from running the following command in a terminal:
Code: [Select]
uname -a
and confirm that you want the "English" version of the Tor browser bundle.

What are you running Peppermint on? / Re: IBM T40

Peppermint 3 is still an option.

You could tag it as (ABANDONED) ;)
