Installation / Screen Issue After Login-SOLVED
« on: June 25, 2015, 11:17:53 am »
I installed Peppermint 6 on a friends computer and it is working.  However, after the login screen you see a bunch of "stuff" on the bottom half on the screen until it loads and you see the menu on the bottom left.  Then you see the normal window background.  The stuff looks like a bunch of terminal commands but all over the screen.  I have not seen this before and wondered if that can be fixed.  Don't know what caused this issue.  As I said Peppermint appears to be working ok after that but it's kind of annoying.   :-\

Software & Applications / Peppermint 6 USB Image Writer
« on: June 16, 2015, 02:22:31 pm »
I'm not sure if this is the right place for this topic, but I would like to have a detailed explanation on how to use the USB Image Writer.  Can I make a complete image of the current setup I have?  If so how do I do that?  It asks you to select the image to write and offers the directories.  Do I select all of the directories or just a specific one?  Sorry if this is a dumb question but I'm not sure what to do.  Thanks. :-\

News and Reviews / Peppermint 6 Review by Linux Help Guy
« on: June 09, 2015, 05:40:19 pm »
There is a nice review by Linux help Guy of Peppermint 6 on Youtube at
Sorry if I didn't post the url properly.

I have Peppermint 6 installed on my laptops and it's working great.  However, I'd like to print to my Brother Laser printer that is connected to my Dell desktop running windows 7, but I cannot.  The printer setup in Peppermint does find the printer but I'm unable to print a test page or anything.  If I use windows 7 on my on my laptop I'm able to print fine, but I cannot when using Peppermint.  I'd appreciate any suggestions on how to fix this.  Thanks.

Software & Applications / WPS Office in Peppermint Six
« on: May 31, 2015, 02:25:29 pm »
I just installed the GREAT new version of Peppermint.  However, when I installed the latest .deb package of WPS Office it does not show up in the office folder (Or any other folder) on the menu, even though it says it's installed.  This may be a problem with WPS Office but I'd appreciate any help I can get with this.  Thanks.

Edit: I'm using the 64 bit version of P6.

Does anyone have any experience with this distro?  It's based on Lubuntu and it reminds me of Peppermint with more Glitz!
I've tested it a bit and it seems nice although not as stable as Peppermint.  Thanks.  Jeff
