What are you running Peppermint on? / Re: Place Holder :)

Wow.  Really a great system Sn33x.  I'm jealous. :)

If you are looking for a free application to open and modify autocad drawings in linux there is none.  Draftsight was the last one, but they stopped supporting linux on 1/1/2020.  If you go to Open Design Alliance at opendesign.com you can download ODA Drawings Explorer for Linux and this is as close as you can come.  You can open, make minor modifications, save, and print dwg files.   Otherwise you can buy ProgeCad, CMS IntelliCAD, and some others that read and write AutoCad files.  To my knowledge the other Free linux cad program out there do NOT support AutoCad files other than dxf, but not dwg which is really the industry standard for 2-d Cad.  3-d Cad is another story all together.  Hope that helps.

If you select other, on the next screen at the top you see an option that says Select Best Server.  If you select that option, it will run a series of tests to find the best server for your location.  Then you can choose that server.

Sorry, but that's not possible.  You must do a full install.

Not sure where to guide you at this point.  Our Leader, who would have worked on such things, has recently passed away and we are in process of determining our path forward.  It is a sad time for Team Peppermint.

My understanding is that it is not possible at this time.  The browsers are hard coded into to the ice app.

I am shocked and saddened by the news.  Mark was a great guy and did so much for Peppermint and all of Linux.  My heartfelt condolences to his family and his many friends both in the UK and USA.

Hardware / Re: New SSD Slower Than Mechanical Drive
« on: November 22, 2019, 10:13:51 am »
Thanks for all the ideas.  It turns out the UUID for the swap partition was not the same as blkid.  I changed that and it made a huge difference.  :)  I think I'm ok now.  For what it's worth, Clonezilla was used to clone the drive.  This is an old Lenovo x130e laptop that only has Sata II so it will never be as fast as Sata III but at least it's a bit faster.  Before I made this change it took over a minute for the bar to go across on the starting screen.  Now the starting screen flies by.   ;D

Hardware / New SSD Slower Than Mechanical Drive [SOLVED]
« on: November 21, 2019, 09:12:17 pm »
I just installed a new Crucial SSD cloned from a mechanical drive with Peppermint 10.  It seems run slower than my old drive.  Any thoughts how to speed it up?  Thanks.  See my system specs:
