Ok, l have received the new battery and had it on charge all last night but to my chagrin find the Xfce PowerManager is still showing the battery icon on 2 of the  3 green bars and stating it is charging but constantly shows at 59% charge. I want this to indicate 100% when it is at full charge. After reading the HELP documentation is still leaves me confused. can l get the "Battery Icon" to illustrate 3 green bars and show a 100% charge? Which l can relate to.

I have been using Torguard and have found them to be a very good company to deal with..relatively easy installs. I have it mounted on Windows 10, Windows 8.1  , Cell phones on Peppermint 10 and Linux Mint 18.3. I have had issues recently on my Linux machines but have Torguard working on it even though l think the issue is with the ITV Television in the UK as l still receive BBC Programing with no issues. Missing my Coronation Street Soaps on Linux. ::) ::)

Pour it all out my friend (if l may be so bald as to call you  that) it definitely helps you as well as others to recall your conversations and times. I enjoyed reading it.
BTW l am just a brute for punishment as l have 3 Yoga Lenovos but none of which are new.

Hi very sad and good people,

I informed my "Linux Jedi Master", my "Mentor", AKA, (He who shall not be Named), of the passing of Mr. Greaves.

He did something I have never seen him do and I have known him for 7 yrs, and has only taken me on to teach me all about Linux, and Peppermint in particular, over the last three years. I have now just turned 18 a couple months ago.

He cried, I mean he really cried, which made me cry.

He told me that this was a "passing of an era".

Even though he is banned for life here on the forums, Until now, I did not realise just how much honor and respect he held for Mr Greaves.

Even as he was crying, he said, "Mark needs to be honored for his many contributions".

He said that maybe the next version of Peppermint should be called the "Mark Greaves" edition or the "PCNetSpec" edition.

He also said to me that all of "us" who are members of the forums should make ourselves totally available in whatever way "we" can, to be of help to those left behind to help out to whatever we can do, to help the developers to continue with Peppermint as a tribute to Mark Greaves.

Heck, I thought these two hated each other, Im just a dumb kid. What do i know. Sounds to me like they both respected each other despite whatever their fight and differences was ever about.

His tears are not  lieing, at least to me.

He did something else I have never seen him do in front of me.

He opened a bottle of something called "glen fidiche" or something like that and raised his glass to Mr. Greaves and just said. "You sir will be sorely missed", then sat down and cried.

I cried as well, you would think that these two were friends, not frenemies.

I guess I have much to learn about how adults really feel about each other, especially when one passes away and they can never take back what they ever said to each other.

I have seen a side of my "Mentor" as well.  I did not think he had emotions like this.

Warmest and best regards to all family, friends, associates, and all of us that Mr.Greaves ever spoke to and helped here,

The Omen

He helped me too.

EDIT, I will only tell you who the "Mentor" is, (He who shall not be Named), ONLY if moderators will promise me not to ban me for doing this, I was warned by Mr. Greaves to never do so, and will never do so, Unless I have Moderators promise that this is OK.

My young friend what your Mentor is, in my 70 years experience, is a Gentleman...A word not used much in these days but is truly descriptive and speaks volumes as the the character of your friend...cherish him.

Funny thing about the English ??? language  you meant wind as in windows and l read wind as in rewind... ::)

Wait a minute....the fellow who produced the video "English Bob" is on the Forum where there are people he is conflicted with asking for opinion :o :o?? WTF!

Windrose,  EB is just pointing out a YouTube video he found - he did not make it.  Go watch the video in YouTube and not in here.  You will see who made it.

Regards Zeb...

My apologies to English Bob ...just rewatched and it seems he has some type of Linux Educational series he produces but he seems to be looking for "Likes and Subscribers" His curser was jumping around so much it was difficult to see what he was actually wanting to show..

My Lenovo Yoga 500 with Pep 10 respin on charges up to 100% and the indicator tells me how long it will take, percentage it's charged to. [...] Best thing to do is take it out and [...]

That spurred my memory...   :)

A while back, I was reading an article about how winders users could reset their battery indicator circuitry. That is, reset the battery power percentage calculations and so forth, by starting afresh..

They said to remove the battery - press & hold down the power button for 10-15 seconds - then reinsert the battery and power-up.

Don't know if it has any relevance in this discussion, or if it even works, but who knows?! It can't hurt...

Winders??   The battery is shot..! Now to find a cheap but good one....any suggestions on the no name Chinese ones?  I know they are all Chinese...
