Over the year's I've tried configuring ClawsMail many times as an exercise.  I think I managed it once and promptly forgot how I did it.  I came to the conclusion that a mail client that awkward to configure, isn't worth bothering with.  There isn't even a decent tutorial on YouTube.  For a local email client, I recommend Thunderbird.  It's easy to install and configure  ;).
yeh, thanks.
stopped using Tbird in MS Windows a couple years ago cause it was so bloated.
ideally i want to make Claws-mail work for me.
will continue to work to that end.

Software & Applications / help with installing Claw-mail
« on: March 30, 2018, 12:39:49 pm »
so i am not knowledgeable enough to get this email client to install.
i get a config error that references pkg-config is missing.
i went to the freedesktop.org and got the pkg-config 0.29.2 tar file.
ran ./configure in the pkg-config directory and now get a "configure: error: Either a previously installed pkg-config or "glib-2.0 >= 2.16" could not be found".

not sure where to go from here.
any help is much appreciated.

Hardware / Touch Pad partially disabled (SOLVED)
« on: March 26, 2018, 12:34:54 pm »
hi to all.
recent install of Peppermint 8 on IBM Thinkpad.
i was customizing the touchpad pointer speed and the pointer now will not allow me to select or click on anything on the screen.
it still moves across the screen in a normal manner but will not allow me to click on any place i choose to open or close.
if i logout and then login as a guest it works normally.

any ideas? comments?

thanks to all.
