That's what I feared.   What a shame  :(
I will have to work out how to save all of my files in a single profile until they fix it.

Software & Applications / LibreOffice 6 update (SOLVED)
« on: February 18, 2018, 03:56:48 pm »
Can anyone provide simple instructions on how to update from version 5 to 6?

Which file to download DEB or RPM?
I have tried both and neither install.  They open multiple installation windows, which the instructions do warn about.
I really cannot get to grips with anything on the terminal without a dummy's guide instructions and their instructions are not clear enough.  I try copy and pasting their instructions but they just don't work.  Please can anyone help?

Thanks Tetricky.  i have to admit that i understood about a quarter of your reply   :-\
I use firefox and not chrome.  I just want to be able to have home and business accounts listed in the file directory so i can save files to both.  But it seems like Dropbox don't want to support that feature on Linux despite the large number of forum posts discussing it.

General Discussion / Printer Driver installed...!
« on: December 02, 2017, 05:06:24 pm »
OMG - jaw dropping moment.  I have tried installing the wifi windows driver for our HP printer on my laptop with Win10 and it is flakey at best and usually doesn't connect at all.  At leat half an hours worth of downloads and troubleshooting later and it never connects.

Queue Peppermint (new install).  It found the printer instantly and offered me the print test page option within 3 seconds of selecting install... No way I thought.  There is no way that Linux can do it that much quicker than Win10.  I hit the print button extecting nothing, but low and behold, there was a beautiful test page printed to perfection.

I just had report that as I am still in shock.  I always thought that it was a problem with my Laptop but apparently not!

Software & Applications / Dropbox support for personal and work accounts
« on: December 02, 2017, 02:41:29 pm »
According to Dropbox, multiple accounts are supported by all platforms except for linux.  What's that about!!??

Does anyone know a work-around for this on Peppermint as it is quite frustrating.  I have alreast switched from OneDrive because there is no native support for it, so a fix for this would be amazing.

Thanks in Advance,

I have wanted to get Linux for over a decade but, sadly it has never been easy enough to use.  I have an old Pavilion DV9 and my version of win10 became corrupt.  So it was time to dip my toe in again to see if the water was warm enough yet.  I tried lots of distro's this time round and Peppermint was the only one not to crash, to install first time and to update properly.  Plus is has a good selection of programmes in the store.  My laptop boots up (and turns off) much quicker than with win10.  The screen is clear and I love the configurable desktop.  I am trying to think of all of the programmes that I "need" from Win10 but I really can't think of anything where a version isn't available (except onedrive, but i am considering switching to dropbox so not a big issue).

I am a happy chappy  8)
