Why cheap systems run 32-bit UEFI on x64 processors by Brian Richardson

Will vendors stop shipping 32-bit versions of 64-bit platforms anytime soon? Itís hard to tell, but I doubt demand will cease for cheaper consumer devices. So Linux support for UEFI IA32 is still an unanswered question. Linux users have requested this option, and some work has been done to bridge the gap Ö but itís still an unofficial hack with mixed results. That means Linux distros have to evaluate how they support cheaper Intel devices, and Linux users have to do a bit homework when selecting a new system for experimentation.

Product Details as Below:-
iBall Excelance CompBook 11.6-inch Laptop (Atom Z3735F/2GB/32GB/Windows 10/Integrated Graphics)

http://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B01FHE9L7Q/ref=s9_wsim_gw_g147_i1_r?pf_rd_m=A1VBAL9TL5WCBF&pf_rd_s=desktop-6&pf_rd_r=17QJ9RBF0X6PQRYDFN4N&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=1031822727&pf_rd_i=desktop

In these days in India lot off such models with Atom Z3735F motherboard available and all are Preinstall with Windows and nobody offering this with Linux.

Thank you perknh,PCNetSpec,AndyInMokum,GNULINUX for you inputs and sharing.  :)

After this discussion I came to know Peppermint team is full of genius who take care small small things which can improve Peppermint Distro. Most the time other big and popular distro. miss that small small details due to lack of experience and Dedicated team and forum users. I had experienced this during migration process in production environment. Most of the time you attach any device camera/Mobile/3G or 4G Dongle/USB Wireless Dongle/USB bar-code Scanner/Printer PM6 always work and other distro failed due to XYZ reasons.

I'm excited for PM7. I'm hoping it should be better than PM6.

Rajeev Gautam
