« on: April 02, 2018, 07:00:59 am »
Hi All,

I'm trying to install PM8 on Acer ES1-533-P4PA. I had disable Secure Boot option into the BIOS (Boot Mode:UEFI). After that I had able to boot from PM8 Pen Drive. And Created given below Partition:-

EFI Partition 250 M.B
swap Partition 8 GB
/ Partition 20 GB
/home Partition rest of HDD Space

Select Boot loader Partition EFI

During Installation I got given below error.

The Grub-installation failed
The 'grub-efi-amd64-signed' package failed to install into/target/.without the Grub boot loader,the installed system will not boot.

After that installation crashed. Please help me out why this issue is happening.

Hi,

Thanks mac for your reply.

Short answer is that I don't know.  But I'm sure someone who does know will be along shortly.  Meanwhile, have a look at https://hide.me/en/vpnsetup/ubuntu/ikev2/

Code: [Select]
sudo -s
apt-get -y install strongswan
apt-get -y install strongswan-plugin-eap-mschapv2
apt-get -y install libcharon-extra-plugins
apt-get -y install libstrongswan-extra-plugins

If I tried command mentioned in above it's give error on below packages.

Code: [Select]
administrator@VMPM6 ~ $ sudo apt-get -y install libcharon-extra-plugins
[sudo] password for administrator:
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
E: Unable to locate package libcharon-extra-plugins
administrator@VMPM6 ~ $ sudo apt-get -y install libstrongswan-extra-plugins
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
E: Unable to locate package libstrongswan-extra-plugins

I also got article from Microsoft docs.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/vpn-gateway/point-to-site-vpn-client-configuration-radius#adlinuxcli

it says do this as below:-

install strongSwan and its Network Manager by running the command in the example. If you receive an error that's related to libcharon-extra-plugins, replace it with strongswan-plugin-eap-mschapv2.

Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get install strongswan libcharon-extra-plugins moreutils iptables-persistent network-manager-strongswan

Select the Network Manager icon (up-arrow/down-arrow), and select Edit Connections.

Select the Add button to create a new connection.

Select IPsec/IKEv2 (strongswan) from the drop-down menu, and then select Create. You can rename your connection in this step.

Open the VpnSettings.xml file from the Generic folder of the downloaded client configuration files. Find the tag called VpnServer and copy the name, beginning with azuregateway and ending with .cloudapp.net.

Paste this name into the Address field of your new VPN connection in the Gateway section. Next, select the folder icon at the end of the Certificate field, browse to the Generic folder, and select the VpnServerRoot file.
In the Client section of the connection, select EAP for Authentication, and enter your username and password. You might have to select the lock icon on the right to save this information. Then, select Save.

Select the Network Manager icon (up-arrow/down-arrow) and hover over VPN Connections. You see the VPN connection that you created. To initiate the connection, select it.

Hi,

Nobody Reply on this post. I think,I'm not able to communicate my question properly. I Just want to know, Is PM support VPN and IKEv2 (VPN connection Type/encryption)? How-to configure VPN in PM.

IKEv2 VPN, a standards-based IPsec VPN solution. IKEv2 VPN can be used to connect from Linux devices

After googled I found Ubuntu configure VPN through Network-Connection-Manager.

As I follow the step in PM after Click Add. It ask me Add-choose a connection Type and give below option.

PPTP
Import a same VPN Configuration

It is not asking me for IKEv2 or IPsec there.

Please share your suggestion and advice. As per Microsoft they support windows and Mac (with IKEv2). They can't  or want to help me with Linux.

Are you asking how to run:
Code: [Select]

VBoxManage controlvm "Zentyal"  poweroff

if you shut down the PC using the normal shutdown procedure of clicking the logout button in the whiskerrmenu ? .. or do you use some other method of powering off your PC

I'm asking given below syntax should run automatically and poweroff VM when I shutdown Host OS. I mean given syntax run automatically and poweroff before shutdown Host OS.

Code: [Select]
VBoxManage controlvm "Zentyal"  poweroff

Hi,

PCNetSpecs Thanks.
Quote
Run:
Code: [Select]

pluma ~/.config/autostart/zentyal-vbox.desktop

When a blank file opens, make it read:-
Code: [Select]

[Desktop Entry]
Type=Application
Version=1.0
Name=Zentyal Virtaulbox
Comment=Autostart the Zentyal Virtualbox
Exec=VBoxManage startvm -type headless
Icon=virtualbox
Terminal=false

SAVE the file, and exit the text editor.

Now test it by logging off/on again.

Above instrcutions works for me.I have one more question when I'll shutdown VirtualBox Host OS it will poweroff specifiy running VM before shutdown Host OS.

Code: [Select]
VBoxManage controlvm "Zentyal"  poweroff

Thanks again for your help.

Have you got anything against Teamviewer ?

No,notting against Teamviewer and Any Desk? Actual Iím using a lot over the internet to access desktop.

Quote
I've been using NoMachine after seeing it mentioned in another thread. If both computers are on the same local network, it's pretty good.

NoMachine really good. It will work for me to take remort session in LAN. Thanks murraymint.

I also want to know and understand more about Open Source Linux Terminal Server (concurrent connection to access single desktop with multiple users). As you suggested NoMachine and one I came to know about Thinlinc but they are commerical product and they are charging unreasonable high and yearly subscripations. There any open source Linux Terminal server software which allow me to pulished for concurrent connect with  peppermint Linux desktop which also allow Local folder share and Printer share.

I tried to google and found  FreeNX,NeatX,X2Go these are few open sources which are avaiable but theyíre all not good enough or nobody taking care of these project. :-\ Do you know any open sources Terminal server project or software?

Hi,

After googled I found about _netdev which is as below:-

Quote
The _netdev option is also used for systems that only have networking started at user login (as when using the  Network Manager package). For having network connections enabled at boot up (without requiring a user login) then tools that write to the /etc/network/interfaces file may have to be used. It is probably good policy to always use _netdev for all automatic network mounts.

I also found given below link which may be useful for other users who want to use CIFS.
