« on: May 22, 2017, 05:05:41 am »
Hey guys. I am having an issue with the Peppermint-Control-Center, with it not being able to load. I tried running it in the terminal and this is the output:

Code: [Select]

(peppermint-control-center:2602): Gtk-WARNING **: Theme parsing error: gtk-widgets.css:7:19: Theming engine 'adwaita' not found

What should I do? Should I add 'Cyan' into those lines? Thanks for the advice

Software & Applications / Parts of words are missing
« on: May 21, 2017, 12:42:21 pm »
Hello guys. I am having an issue in which I don't know how to solve. Occassionally, some parts of words dissappear and I tried changing the theme and it doesn't help. My setup is a Dell Inspiron e1505 laptop connected to an external display via VGA cable. Is that a factor? Any advice would help. Thanks :) This is in Peppermint OS 6

Go into this directory
Code: [Select]
gksudo nemo /usr/share/themes/Peppermix-Dark/gtk-3.0/assets
and rename these files:-

contact-stripes.png   -->   stripeless-contact-stripes.png
contact-stripes-9.png   -->   stripeless-contact-stripes-9.png
contact-stripes-10.png   -->   stripeless-contact-stripes-10.png

then rename

old-contact-stripes.png   -->   contact-stripes.png
old-contact-stripes-9.png   -->   contact-stripes-9.png
old-contact-stripes-10.png   -->   contact-stripes-10.png

then go into this directory
Code: [Select]
gksudo nemo /usr/share/themes/Peppermix-Dark/gtk-2.0/images/other
and rename

oriental-4.png   -->   stripeless-oriental-4.png

then

old-oriental-4.png   -->   oriental-4.png

then log off/on.
Thanks a ton! Really helpful. If you dont mind, shall I create a tutorial video for youtube for this subject matter?

If anyone agrees with the guy about the stripes in the menu and left panel in nemo (and oddly I do) .. try this:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/11876059/Peppermix-Dark_remove-stripes.zip
I assume it's self explanatory where the files go, but if anyone gets stuck .. just ask

I may change this to default in the respin when it comes .. unless people disagree ?

Here it is on my netbook with the stripes removed:-

Hello. So If I want the striped theme since I have the 09-04-15 version installed on my laptop, how would I get the theme?

New Users / Errors

Hello Peppermint team. This is my first time with being here and being with peppermint 6 and I have an issue. I just uninstalled KDE from Peppermint 6 and when I went to change desktop pager settings, it says: Error, only openbox and compiz are supported Error, you need to install obconf, ccsm of simple-ccsm. I have openbox and obconf and I don't know what to do after that.
