Your touchpad is #9. If you run this command, you'll get more details about that device's properties:

Code: [Select]
$ xinput list-props 9

This is what my touchpad (#11 for me) looks like. I have mine disabled. But, maybe some other properties might stand out as different.

Code: [Select]
$ xinput list-props 11

Some of those settings are documented at: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Touchpad_Synaptics

There is a package named "touchpad-indicator" which you can install with "sudo apt-get install touchpad-indicator". That might give you some configurability. (I haven't installed this package in years. I don't use Peppermint at the moment, I'm planning to try it soon. In theory it should be ok to install that package. But... I don't know for sure.).
Okay the touchpad indicator no longer exist in peppermint maybe they took that off and this is what i got on my prop 9

Hi M3TWJ,

Try these commands (found here) in a terminal and tell us if the touchpad responds normally (it is supposed to work immediately after running the commands, but the changes do not survive a reboot):

Code: [Select]
sudo -i
echo 'on' > /sys/bus/i2c/devices/i2c-SYNA3602\:00/power/control
rmmod i2c_hid
modprobe i2c_hid

If it does, maybe PCNetSpec can tell you how to make the changes survive a reboot.

Regards,

-- Slim

Okay i try that when I get back thank you for helping me on this
