Hello murraymint

I understand what you are saying but at the time it was the only way i could think of that would get the job done.
Is there a way to disable the root password i created?

Hello emegra

I have now finally moved the image into /usr/share/peppermint/wallpapers by doing the following, typing a new password for the root account.
And then i was able to become 'root' in the terminal by typing:

Code: [Select]
su (Enter)
typed in new root password and then
mv image.jpg /usr/share/peppermint/wallpapers

Have now got an image very similar to my old chopper motor bike as my background image.
Those were the days lol.

Big thanks Graeme for taking the time out to help an old duffer like me.

I opened a terminal and type the following

Code: [Select]
cd Downloads
sudo su mv backgroundimage.jpg /usr/share/peppermint/wallpapers

Could someone tell me where i'm going wrong please.

Hello everyone. I've only just finished installing Peppermint-9 respin. Everything seems to be working fine, just a little strange at the moment until i get used to the OS.
I'm a space junkie and would really appreciate it if anyone could tell me where i can get 'free' space images for my desktop background.
Thanks.
