but don't buy the 1 usb models, one thinks it will work out, but i miss a second one with my 6320.
second, i had a vinyl like surface surrounding the touchpad, palmrest. sticky not fine surface and scraped it all of with a razorblade.
does not look pretty, but feels much better

just fun to see that these oldies can be made very useful again.
i could think that some could use them for internet banking alone.
could not be safer i think

i am back again with this question
the 2,5 second no touchpad while typing works.
but the sensitivity of the touchpad is really bad.

so is there another way to tackle that?
when my finger ore thumb are just above the touchpad the cursor is moving.
clean't the surface with a cleaner, but that did not do the trick.
in the peppermint setting acceleration and threshold are on 0

again a successful installation, and this time a netbook
Acer Aspire One D250 KAV60 with a Peppermint 10 32 bits installation
touchpad workt out off the box, just like wifi connection.

if there was a thing it is that some windows open up larger than the screen
this happens with installation so you don't see the accept ore further button, ore after installation can't see the red X for closing a window/app
as portable writer with open office it works great

« on: October 11, 2019, 01:06:14 pm »

then it did not happen and blamed some youtube downloader for it and removed them all.
the notifications on the NOS site were off , at last i got some XXX popups to that i want to get rid off

Installation / Re: what if this function would exist

Hi pepperOS,

I know that this does not solve all of your desires when installing a new version of PeppermintOS, but it will at least save you from having to (as you said)
restore all the documents and files you want to use again and saved before.

The solution is to create and use a separate DATA partition for all of your personal docs, pictures, videos, downloads, music, etc. You can read how to do this in my tutorial that can be found here in our forum.  ;)

i do use separate data partition, but its more the installation of all the software that i use, but thanks for the idea

Thank you for explaining.
he certainly will be very happy because this acer will do all the things he want, mail, webbrowsing and facebook and does not need a new windows laptop (with all its update problems)
than this topic can be closed.

i am smiling from ear to ear the time before the login screen and after are so much shorter, this is so great 8)
my neighbor who is over 70 years old will not believe when he will experience this vs windows 10.

but now i am interested, what did go wrong in the first place?

i did exactly like you wrote but it will not work. tried changing desktop in Bureaublad (dutch for Desktop and is its folder name)
but i ran dmesg and copied the output and made a txt file. hope this is usable ::)

i can say that the laptop is running fine till now as i would aspect for this old Top and its specs
