You could use Timeshift which is available in the package manager.  It takes a snapshot of the system files only (i.e. it doesn't include your home directory).

You can then copy the snapshot to a USB drive.

To restore, you would have to do a new install of Peppermint, install timeshift then restore the snapshot from the USB drive.

Sorry if it will sound like stupid question. I really don't have experience with Timeshift, but it won't include the desktop style like how I set up the panels and so on, or?

Hi Peppermint lovers. I never did a snapshot yet from system so I'm not sure how it is working. My question is if there is any possibility to make a snapshot, save it as file on usb and then load it from the new os instalation on SSD?

Hi @zebedeeboss and thanks for telling me how the things are with the community irc channel. Maybe I would like to make one "by user for users" ^^  ;D I hope it won't be problem. When I am done creating the channel, I will post about it soon as possible.

Have a nice day/night everyone! ^^

Hi everyone!  :)  I was searching if there is any irc channel for Peppermint OS but I found that there is one which is probably not active. I would like to create one if you are interested or maybe this way ask the moderators if there is any chance to make new one or continue with older one. I think it could be helpful too and we could chat on it too.

Thank you so much for the fix. I had this problem in another distro time ago, but never found a solution till now.
