My mouth has gotten me into trouble too many times.

I nearly wrote that as "my mouth has bitten me in the ass too many times" but upon reflection....

There's something zen about that...

I join you all in sympathy!

...She just won't consider changing at all. But I won't deny she takes good care of me so I just do what I must to keep her happy.

Pepp On everybody!  :D

Well done .. wish I could talk my missus into Linux, but she just won't have it ::)

There's absolutely nothing she does that requires Windows, but she still won't swap :(
(I've realised it's easier to just resign myself to the fact I'll never be 100% Windows support free)

Same here with the g/f. Her netbook has Windows 7. Instead of using P9 (which I installed), she got a new laptop with Win 10.
If you ever persuade your wife, please share how you did it.

Peppermint 7 will not be supported indefinitely. That being said, it is a pain to upgrade.
THAT being said, P10, IMHO is a marked improvement over 9. I am currently using P8. If P11 is a similar step up, I will upgrade to it when it becomes available. If not, P10.

There were a few more alternative wallpapers that got kinda half developed, I may post those in due course for people to play with.

Now I'm curious,

Nice .. after looking at most of the reviews it seems that 'alternative' wallpaper is possibly more popular than the default...

Count me in as preferring the alternate.

18.04 is the right base for Peppermint 10. Here is the page with links to .deb packages if the repo isn't working.

https://software.opensuse.org/download.html?project=home:stevenpusser&package=palemoon#directUbuntu

Could not get the repository to work but had sucess with the .deb package. Thanks!

There are several sets of instructions under "Ubuntu". Which do I use? I tried the instructions under "Ubuntu 18.04" but my laptop will not update the repository.

Pale Moon is my favorite browser. I have installed it in P8 and P9, but either I forgot how or the method has changed. How do I install it in P10?

Use shift+c to cut, and then right-click in an open space on the terminal and click "paste.

If you remove all the entries in a category, that category will disappear from your left column, but the programs remain installed and accessible via the search at bottom of the menu @peppycrab....

 ;)

Sounds like an answer...but how do I do that?
If I could move those programs to another category, that would accomplish the same thing, but.....how?

My left column is a bit crowded. Since I never use the programs under "Graphics", I could lose that category. I assume that the shortcuts would remain in the "All" category if I ever had a need for them.

I understand that Menu Libre is not good for Peppermint versions before P9. I am running P8 - any useful menu editing  options for me?

What happens if you open a terminal and run:
Code: [Select]
nm-connection-editor

I was told that I didn't have connection-editor-gnome installed, but it gave instructions how to do so. I installed it, an Voila, my indictor is back!

Are you able to connect to the internet at all on this PC ?

I was, but only to connections that I had used previously. Now I can see all networks in my area. All good now. Thanks!
