Installation / Loose p10 after running updates
« on: December 25, 2019, 04:59:08 pm »
Hi I have a Acer laptop I have dual boot with Windows 10 and pepermint10. Twice now after running updates p10 disappears and will only boot into w10 with empty p10 partition.  Have p10 on 4 other machines and don't have any problems. Will try another fresh install with latest version and see what happens. Cheers

It appears that this adapter only works with a lower kernel in the 2. range. If there is no work around as my kernel 4.15.0-70 what adapter would you suggest? Thanks

Thanks for that . Everything worked you bute, but for some reason cant get any life out of the adapter. Pluged it into another desktop running peppermint with no response, rebooted into windows and indicator light on adapter light straight up. Even though it says its linux friendly maybe its linux version particular. Might have to take it back and get another breed of adaptor, their a bit scarce here in Aussie.

Oops thanks was in a hurry earlier on way to work. But thanks for letting me in ......I mean join. Have had a lot of positive things happen with Mint over last couple of years  but the kids that don't live at home have a bit of trouble being used to Win10. I've let them have a test drive with peppermint on test machine and they like it a lot. So here's hoping thanks again. Hotcahoona.

Installation / Change from Mint to Peppermint

Hi just wondering what would be the easiest way to replace mint18 with peppermint7. The two systems I would like to do this with are both dual boot with win10. What would be the best backup program to use and will it restore into peppermint without loosing too much ? I was thinking to just format partitions and do a fresh install and restore from a backup. Grub should remain the same? Thanks
I have trialled peppermint on laptop and it seems to be a more user friendly specially with multipliable users more in-tuned to win10 .
