Hey dudes, I think the problem is gone. I was using the 32bit version. Now I installed the Peppermint OS 9 64bit and it is working very good. Thank you for the support.  :D

The problem persists. I'm thinking of going back to peppermint 8 or 7.

I see you are running the nouveau drivers and not nVidia

Graphics:  Card: NVIDIA C79 [GeForce 9100M G]
           Display Server: x11 (X.Org 1.19.6 )
           drivers: nouveau (unloaded: modesetting,fbdev,vesa)
           Resolution: 1280x800@59.99hz
           OpenGL: renderer: NVAC version: 3.3 Mesa 18.0.5

To add the Proprietary GPU Drivers PPA in Peppermint and update the software sources, use the following commands:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:graphics-drivers/ppa

sudo apt update

Close terminal then go to -  All - then - Additional Drivers and install latest nVidia drivers current version is 396

once installed reboot

Thanks, I'm now using this one. I hope it works.

When it locks, are you able to drop to a text console by hitting Ctrl+Alt+F2 ?

Sadly no. The only thing I can do is force shutdown the laptop

Is it the entire system that has locked (kernel panic) or just X ?

When it locks, are you able to drop to a text console by hitting Ctrl+Alt+F2 ?

If so, log in in text mode, then run:
Code: [Select]
sudo service lightdm restartdid that restart the desktop ?

1. The entire system.
2. I will see and give a feedback later.

Hi Patrick_os,

There are some problems with the legacy 340 Nvidia drivers with the current kernel.  To see if the Nvidia driver is causing a problem, can you go to settings, additional drivers and change back to the  X.Org  X Server Nouveau Driver.

Let us know if it makes any difference.

Hi, I'm already using it by default, never have changed to Nvidia driver.
Thanks

It freezes when I'm using facebook or youtube for example.
I hope you guys can help me. Thanks!

Not yet my mate, but then I'm pretty busy getting the Peppermint 7 respin ready .. I'll get to it as soon as I have time but you'll have to bear with me a bit.

Hi my friend,
Can I help you in any way? I would really appreciate this function to be available in LXDE. I have a friend that needs this function too, because we want to use LXDE to have more memory available. And Peppermint is a distro that I am enjoying very much.

Okay remove em then:
Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get remove --purge wacom-utility python-supportand I'll see if I can figure this out

See if this works...
(I haven't got a wacom tablet, so can't test it myself)

FIRST download this file:
http://launchpadlibrarian.net/109052632/python-support_1.0.15_all.deb
and double-click it to install.

Then download this file:
https://launchpad.net/~hughescih/+archive/ppa/+files/wacom-utility_1.21-3_all.deb
and double-click it to install

Then open a terminal and run:
Code: [Select]
sudo pluma /usr/share/applications/wacom-utility.desktopand make it read:-
Code: [Select]
#!/usr/bin/env xdg-open

[Desktop Entry]
Version=1.0
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=Wacom Control Panel
Type=Application
Exec=python /usr/share/wacom-utility/wacom_utility.py
Terminal=false
Icon=/usr/share/wacom-utility/images/generic.png
Comment=Utility to configure wacom pen tablets
Categories=GTK;Settings;HardwareSettings;GNOME;
OnlyShowIn=LXDE;Settings;GNOME;
Hidden=false
Name[en_CA]=Wacom Control Panel
Comment[en_CA]=Utility to configure wacom pen tablets
X-GNOME-Autostart-enabled=false
SAVE the file and exit gedit.

Now (with your wacom tablet attached) go to:-
menu > Preferences > Wacom Control Panel
and see if it works ?

It opens but don't detect the wacom tablet

Hardware / Wacom/Graphics Tablet settings menu on Peppermint
« on: November 23, 2016, 02:43:20 am »
Hello everyone!

I want to configure my Wacom graphic tablet on Peppermint just like when I was in Linux Mint. On Mint and Ubuntu there is a menu called Graphics tablet, where we can change the pressure sensitivity and the buttons. But in Peppermint I can't do that. Can this be integrated into the system?  :)

Here is the menu:

Sorry if my english is not very well, I am not a native english speaker.

Thanks a lot
