Congratz with a great distro and also great ranking on DW!

What exactly do they count on DW? Hits on their own page or hits on peppermintos.com homepage?

Ram used 2,8 G and my fan has zero rpm. Is this because of tlp installed? I have never seen this hig ram usage before and still no fan. But I am happy :)

Peppermint is great and very fast. It is almost a perfect distro :)

My fan is a lot more active on P8 compared to P7. The only thing I do not like.

I wonder, after my small complain... Yesterday I installed TLP and today my computer is silent as a lamb. I also changed swappiness to 10.

The strangest thing is that I use more ram than ever.

I remember that I tried htop after my fresh install, when my fan went wild. My ram used never exceeded 1G

Today my htop tells me I use 2,06G

But my fan is guiet :D

My inxi -F today with firefox and 5 random firefox tabs open:

Thanks :)

Peppermint 8 is very nice. I like that the ctr+alt+t is working and also volume hotkeys was installed.

After installing my Brother printer, I got this message - lpr:command not found.
On P7 it worked out of the box. I had to install cups-bsd and it worked properly.

My fan is a lot more active on P8 compared to P7. The only thing I do not like.

This is as much an educated  guess as anything else, but try:
Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get install fonts-arphic-ukai fonts-arphic-uming ttf-freefont ttf-baekmuk

This answer also helped me today. I am using Firefox and had the same problem :)

Thanks :)

New Users / Configure HiDPI (SOLVED)

Hi

I am very satisfied with Peppermint 7 but my eyes are not. I need to fix my tiny screen. I am able to do so easily in my Gnome Fedora and Ubuntu Unity. But I can not find any place to do so in Peppermint 7.

Any help will be much apreciated.
