I had the same issue and I was able to use "fsck /dev/sda1" and it corrected the problem.
I did not need to use the "sudo" command

I wouldn't try a reinstall.  Mine does the same thing, but I am new to Linux and Peppermint and I thought that was "just the way it is".  After the first time I open it, it is very fast, so I have just gotten used to it. I have also installed Peppermint 7 on other machines, and it seems to be the same way.

Still love it though...

Good Stuff, Everyone.

I like learning new things to become more productive and efficient.  I view the command line as a way to do that.  This is one of the reasons that I have gravitated toward Linux, and I am especially enjoying the Peppermint experience.

I forgot about the "man" command.  I saw that in some of my surfing, but haven't used it yet. I am starting to keep notes on all the things that I am stumbling across so I can refer back to them later.

I like the dual boot idea.  I'll put that on my todo list.

Appreciate all the help and support!

Mike

I had to use this and it worked great!!

I am new to Linux and Peppermint and I am loving it.  I have wanted to learn the terminal more, and this was a great little example.  I appreciate the help and support of the Peppermint Team!!!
