Installation / Checking disk
« on: December 27, 2017, 12:47:08 am »
There is a little question about live-usb.
Trying to "check disk for defects", one can see only

"keys: Press any key to reboot your system"

Ubuntu, Mint write "no errors founds, press any key..."
I use usb-creator.
When I tried other distroes written by Unetbooting, there were 1-2 mistakes found.
But 0 mistakes everytime due to usb-creator.
So, what about PPM message about mistakes?

I verified ISO by gtkhash. The program shows  sha256sum for Peppermint 8 Respin (64 bit) the following:

cff39c61273697c011ebe82f851476938ef2b351d9173f49db64043a19e4ff0d

The value on download page:

8ae0a1585752bb3fe38f4cbe4810c9be029702d6bd77b12efe0a4852edde040a

:-\ However, md5sums are the same. I tried both direct and torrent downloads. What does it mean, thanks!

Will it be this version?

https://launchpad.net/~webupd8team/+archive/ubuntu/nemo

"no Cinnamon dependencies except cinnamon-translations", as written there.

Well, what about Nemo in PM8?
There is a version without cinnamon's dependencies.
Will it be included in realease?

Hi, guys.
What about LXDE-components in PM8?
Will they be replaced by LXQt ones?

I don't remember exactly, but I'm sure: I didn't edit any configs to avoid typing password after hibernation.
I solved the problem by GUI program.
Any case thank you very much, the question is solved.

Well, in PM6 it was sufficiently to uncheck "Lock screen" in the settings of Power Manager.
In PM7 one need to edit config-files, that is not user-friendly way.

It was the first I did. Also I tried via terminal:
Code: [Select]
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.screensaver lock-enabled false
No result.

PCNetSpec
I tested. My verdict: you are genius  8)

Many thanks.
A little question before the topic will marked as solved: why GUI-method worked in PM6 unlike PM7?

New Users / Lock Screen (SOLVED)
« on: June 28, 2016, 03:16:38 pm »
Hi everyone!
Every time after hibernate the display is locked.
One need to type password.
Is it possible to avoid it?
I tried with dconf as following:

org > gnome > desktop > screensaver > lock-enabled (leave empty),
ubuntu-lock-on-suspend as well is empty.

However, monitor is locked again  :'(
What one need to do? Many thanks!
