New Users / Experiência com esta distribuição Linux?
« on: May 12, 2016, 03:04:24 pm »

GNU/Linux Discussion / Linux Distro closest to Windows
« on: May 12, 2016, 02:39:41 pm »
Hi, everyone.
This is a serious question.
Bluetooth doesn't work; install programs outside of repositories...Well, a nightmare. I try to promote PeppermintOS, but people wants to run exe programs, play windows games and other things and Wine and PlayonLinux works very bad.
People says: ZorinOs is closest to windows, but for me it is a modified ubuntu. I respect all linux distros and their teams.

Give me The Best Linux Distros for First Time Switchers from Windows or how make PeppermintOS similar to windows.
My wife says: you use a medieval thing. My little brother hates PeppermintOS...No games, no animations like windows 10 and i ask: Give me reasons to use Linux?

Cheers.

« on: May 11, 2016, 08:59:17 pm »
Hi, everyone.
My little brother is trying PeppermintOS. He wants to play Nintendo 64 (?) emulator and how he reads comics on his PC. (I found MComix with a monkey icon(?!!!!)
I don't understand nothing about games.
How install and run?
Give me a little explanation how run games on Linux.
Thanks for the help. (I'm getting old...I miss windows 95 and real paper books  :D :D : )
Cheers.

Hi, Andyin Mokum.
So much thanks! I will contact Sonar GNU/Linux developer.
Hi, Emegra.
I want programs like Orca Screen Reader and eViacam Head and Eye Tracking Software. I play with her Sudoku, Crosswords and other logic games (World Of Goo, for example). But, it's hard and very frustrating.
Hi, aagimob. Thanks for your attention. Debian...I don't like Debian, but i will try.
Cheers.

Hi, Kyle.
Welcome.  :)
My opinion: do not remove default applications.
Read this from Ptjor (Linux Mint User): https://sites.google.com/site/easylinuxtipsproject/fatalmistakes
But, if PCNetSpec says: you can remove Chromium, follow what he said. He is PeppermintOS developer.
Cheers.

A big thanks for the answers.
Alzheimer is like the return to innocence. It's strange.
For Google/Microsoft/Linux developers: create apps/programs/software applications for Alzheimers Patients and for poor people. We are all humans.
Build a better world.
Cheers.

I like Vivaldi music.
You have so many browsers. Chrome is the best for me.

Hi, Emegra.
To me, it's a indifferent question.
Nothing comes for free.
Marketing strategy or something, i don't no. Linux Mint or Microsoft or Fedora or Google, to me they are the same thing. Money...Money...Money...Users...Cry and Pay  :'(

Hi, Abundancer.
Welcome.  :)
You have a lot of material in internet. Use PeppermintOs without fear.
If you have questions, ask. You have good people here at Peppermint's forum and experienced users.
Cheers.
