Networking / USB Wifi compatability.

I hope this is the right topic. We have a Dell Optiplex 780 tower. It was refurbished when we bought it. It has only 2 gigs of RAM. It apparently cannot be upgraded. I am considering setting it up in our guest bedroom. I would remove Windows 10 and install Peppermint, to get better performance from the 2 gigs. The catch - it has no internal wifi. I have been using a USB wifi device. Will Peppermint recognize the device? If I cannot get wifi I'll have to stick to Windows.

Software & Applications / Pop Peeper Links
« on: March 26, 2019, 08:57:38 pm »
I am running Pop Peeper thru Wine. By default, it opens links in "Wine Windows Explorer".   WWE is not accepted by some sites. There is an option to change to an external browser, but I'm assuming it expects an exe file. If I want links to open in Chromium, where do I find it's exe equivalent?

General Discussion / Chromebook conversion

I am running P8 on an HP Mini that is on it's last legs.
My question: Would it be worth it to get a low-priced Chromebook and replace the Chrome OS with Peppermint? Can it be done?

New Users / Back again - wireless printer problem
« on: October 21, 2018, 10:07:52 am »
On the advice of Slim Fatz, I am opening a new thread. I recently installed an SSD on my HP Mini and reinstalled P8R. Everything is going well, except (once again) I cannot connect to my wireless printer. I was able to do so on my previous hard drive, but I don't know exactly how I did it. So here I am again.

New Users / Equivalent of exe? (Solved - sorta)
« on: October 01, 2018, 05:09:07 pm »
I am running Pop Peeper under Wine. I'd like to open links in one of my browsers, rather than Wine Internet Explorer. In Windows I would enter the browsers exe. What do I enter in Peppermint? (I use Pale Moon as my default browser but sometimes use Chromium).

I recently installed P9 on my girlfriends netbook. She likes WPS office.  I cannot seem to install it on her P9. I have Peppermint 8 on my netbook and WPS installed with no problem. When I try to install, I get a message: "Error:Dependency is not satisfiable libpng 12-0. What do I need to do?
