Installation / Re: How to install Peppermint 10
« on: Today at 05:09:25 pm »
Hi Seadevil, if updating grub while in mint as invisible suggests doesn't work, try reinstalling grub while in mint.
Code: [Select]
sudo update-grub
sudo grub-install /dev/sd?

Hi triwave, I'm wondering if a cronjob could be developed to activate wifi on a regular basis, like every 30 minutes. Maybe someone more familiar with setting up cronjobs could say more about it. The fellow that helped me set one up to clear up free memory is no longer with us RIP, but surely someone could take a try. Good luck. :)

Software & Applications / Re: making permanent changes to folders.
« on: October 22, 2020, 12:13:18 pm »

For those of you who are familiar with the windows world. I am trying to duplicate the ability to have persistent changes to folder appearance and organization such as: reordering the columns, changing the width of the columns. adding and deleting columns, detail view vs folder view, etc.. etc.. and to have these changes persistent within a given folder or even to have all folders have these changes
can I do that ?

Is this guy a troll?

I haven't experienced that problem yet, but what comes to mind is the size of your photos or maybe type, jpg, npg etc.

Networking / Re: Realtek 8822 ( c822 )

Wow, that was weird. Let's see if this is any better.

As far as installing a driver you found, one would need to know what you found to see what it looks like in order to figure out how to install it. Maybe a link to the download would help.

Software & Applications / Re: (SOLVED) Terminal app recommendation
« on: October 12, 2020, 03:57:16 pm »
While in a terminal, just highlighting will copy whatever and allow me to paste where I want by right clicking  and choosing paste. Conversely, I can highlight  something and then go to the terminal and center click my mouse to paste it.  Also, while in the terminal,  highlighting and center clicking does the trick. Makes creating symlinks to my DATA partition real easy when I'm installing a different distribution.

New Users / Re: Aditional drivers problem (Solved)
« on: October 12, 2020, 03:31:26 pm »
That is exactly what I was thinking. But what option should i choose for the above intel driver?
  • Continue using manually installed driver
  • or do not use the device?

Since you are not having any problems, just close "Software & Updates" and forget about it.

Hi timehunter, are you having problems with your graphics? The driver indicated appears to be a wifi driver. Are you having problems with your wifi? If you are having problems, could you run the command

Code: [Select]
inxi -Fz
in a terminal and copy it back here? We need to know of a problem in order to help you fix it.
