Title: Bluetooth issues on laptop
Post by: Oreo on August 25, 2014, 07:38:58 pm
I recently installed Peppermint 5 to my laptop and am trying to use the bluetooth. I can open the bluetooth manager, search for devices and make my laptop discoverable. However, it does not find any of my local devices nor can I find my peppermint setup when I search with my other devices. The manager does not give me any errors to try to research or go off of. I'm not sure where I would start in trouble shooting this. What commands could I use in terminal to find out the specific piece of bluetooth hardware I have?

I found part of my problem. My network card is the realtek rtl8723be. The wifi seems to work but  now and then it stops working and needs a rmmod then modprobe. The bluetooth does not seem to work at all. Does anyone have any experience with this card and how to get it working?

Can you open a terminal and post the output from running:
Code: [Select]
sudo lspci -vnn | grep -i net
and
Code: [Select]
sudo lshw -C network
and
Code: [Select]
rfkill list
