Post by: Ranmit11 on October 19, 2019, 10:34:55 am
I'm noob currently used Acer Aspire One 722 , after read the installation guide there's has a way to install proprietary driver on unsupported by generating packages. (I know I can't install proprietary driver by normal installation because peppermint 10 no more longer support older devices) but i keep trying don't easily give up !  8)

Code: [Select]
bajra@AO722 ~/Downloads/proprietary driver $ sh ./AMD-Catalyst-15.9-Linux-installer-15.201.1151-x86.x86_64.run
Created directory fglrx-install.fmzIYT
Verifying archive integrity... All good.
Uncompressing AMD Catalyst(TM) Proprietary Driver-15.201.1151...

 AMD Catalyst(TM) Proprietary Driver Installer/Packager

error: Detected X Server version 'XServer _64a' is not supported. Supported versions are X.Org 6.9 or later, up to XServer 1.10 (default:v2:x86_64:lib:XServer _64a:none:5.0.0-31-generic:)
Installation will not proceed.

Removing temporary directory: fglrx-install.fmzIYT

but, is this possible to fix xorg so I can proceed ?  :-\

No, not without downgrading xorg (ie. using an old version of xorg that worked with FGLRX) .. that aint gonna be easy (if possible at all).
