Title: PM 8 live usb persistence hanging solved
Post by: maxy2 on July 04, 2019, 02:32:53 am
Hello

I  have been running Pm 8 on a live usb  with persistence for many months and it is working well. However, I was installing some new software via terminal ( a software manager)  and had to reboot. Unfortunately, the live PM8 now hangs on starting up screen. (I can start up on the try PM without install option).

Any ideas how to make persistence option load?

It's highly likely the persistence file has become corrupt .. I doubt if you're gonna be able to recover it (at least I don't know how) :(

Next time, why not do a 'proper' install to a USB stick rather than 'live with persistence' ? .. this would likely be easier to recover from.

Will do. I am just about to  full install a USB with your PM10.

I can enter the casper files (and others) of the corrupted USB. Is it possible to recover the  personal configurations of the programs  and system files I had there and replace the new files  on the PM10 with these? (assuming I load the PM10 with all the programs I had).   I would like to keep the original settings as much as possible.
