Title: Asus Eee 1005P battery problem
Post by: Sgt. Pepper on June 21, 2019, 10:44:25 pm
Hello,
I was running Ubuntu Mate 18.04 previously, but got into some issues and decided to try Peppermint.
Peppermint works great and is noticeable faster. There is a problem with the battery though, it is always stuck at 100% regardless of charging/discharging. It was working well in Mate before.
Acpi says: "Battery 0, Charging, 100%,    until charged".

Ideas anyone?

Cheers,
Sgt. Pepper

Try replacing xfce4-power-manager with mate-power-manager...

Run:
Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get install mate-power-managerthen
Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get remove xfce4-power-manager xfce4-power-manager-data xfce4-power-manager-pluginsNow go to:-

Menu > Settings > Default Applications for LXSession > Core applications (tab)

Change:-

Power Manager: xfce4-power-manager

to

Power Manager: mate-power-manager

exit the LXSession configuration app

Reboot. <-- IMPORTANT

The power manager in the system tray should now be the MATE Power Manager.

Hello again,

I followed the provided recipe, result is I'm without power icon in sys tray now. Nothing happening when I call up the Power Manager in Peppermint Settings Panel/Hardware. Acpi still says the same as before. Hardware problem?

Thanks for your help.

Code: [Select]
ps aux | grep [p]ower-manager
