Title: Nextcloud Password Prompt [SOLVED]
Post by: stroudmw on June 10, 2019, 05:29:55 am
I'm running Peppermint 10 64bit. I've just installed Nextcloud via the ppa (not the flatpack). Whenever I reboot, I get asked for my password (the Keyring password, not the user login password - I've already entered that). How do I stop this? It's really annoying having to enter the password twice.

Anyone? Please? It's wanting a keyring password. I've already entered a password.

NextCloud not being part of Peppermint may mean it's best triaged via https://portal.nextcloud.com/category/authentication/ (https://portal.nextcloud.com/category/authentication/) but perhaps other team members here may have experience with it that I do not have

Try this...

Open a terminal and run
Code: [Select]
mv -v ~/.local/share/keyrings ~/.local/share/keyrings-originalthen
Code: [Select]
mkdir ~/.local/share/keyringsthen
Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get install libpam-gnome-keyringNow REBOOT.  <--it MUST be a REBOOT, it's not enough to log off/on

If after a reboot you're asked for a Keyring Password, LEAVE IT BLANK .. it'll probably bitch about leaving it blank but accept and continue anyway.

Reboot again to check you're no longer asked.
