Title: How to revert back from compiz? (SOLVED)
Post by: JAAT2000 on March 15, 2019, 01:51:12 am
Hey everyone! :)
I just recently got into the world of Linux and all the options to customize the OS, so I went ahead and changed the window manager to 'compiz' as I really liked the animation of closing and opening windows, however I do want to restore back to default, but when I go into 'Peppermint Settings Panel > System > Startup and Default Applications > Core Applications' and try to change to any of the suggested window managers after I reboot to apply the changes, my windows have no border at all, the wallpaper is replaced by a black screen and the mouse cursor is replaced with an 'X'. I have tried to type into window manager both openbox and kwin, but both yield the same result of breaking the window borders, I've tried googling for answers to no avail :( Please help!
Thank you so much in advance!

What are you changing the window manager setting to ?

Default is xfwm4

Neither kwin or openbox are installed by default

I was changing to openbox because it was listed when I clicked on the button labeled as 'More' changing it to what you pointed out fixed it! You're the best thank you so much!! :)
