Title: Pan or any newsgroup reader.
Post by: arkjohn5 on August 05, 2018, 03:18:06 pm
For some unknown reason no newsreaders will work on this flavor. I have installed it on an external usb3 hdd that is connected to a Dell XPS-13 .

Never had this probem before and it started just a few days ago on my desktop system as well.
Any help would be greatly appreciated in getting this corrected.

Thanks to any/all that take the time to reply /offer help

Hi arkjohn5, welcome to the Peppermint Forum  :).  Could we have some more detailed information about your system?  Open a terminal window with the following keystrokes:

Ctrl+Alt+t

Enter, (Copy & Paste) the following command into the terminal window.  Post the output back to the forum:
Code: [Select]
inxi -Fz

I haven't used newsgroups in years and wouldn't even know where to start diagnosing this.

Is there a free newsgroup server somewhere I can use to test pan ?

news.mozilla.org is free and still useful... for firefox, thunderbird seamonkey and the related calendering issues...
