Title: Missing shutdown button [SOLVED]
Post by: crazysquirrel on July 26, 2018, 04:53:40 pm
The shutdown button is grayed out. Only way to shut down a desktop was to manually shut it off by the power switch.

How to fix this??

Can you right click on the menu button in the task bar, a box should pop up titled whisker menu.

Click on properties then click on the commands tab

4th one down should say Log out.  In the box after it does it say
Code: [Select]
peppermint-logout

If not change it to peppermint-logout,  If it does, report back.

Did you keep a home partition from a previous distro or Peppermint version ?

it is a desktop for a friend that switched from XP to peppermint.

Will have to wait a week before I can look at it again.

Fresh install too.

Took everything at default on the install.

wife handed me a screwdriver this morning.
I asked what is this for?

She said I needed it because I have a 'screw loose'

go figure.

If this is Peppermint 8, there is a "Panel Reset" function in the Peppermint Settings Panel.
