Title: art tablets in Peppermint 8
Post by: uberzilla on July 05, 2017, 10:25:52 am
Hello - to the point: tried a test run of Peppermint 8. I am a digital artist and use art tablets. I get no pressure reading from any of my tablets (a Huion p608n, a Monoprice, and a Ugee M708). All worked fine under Peppermint 7 even when I used the terminal to install the latest versions of Mypaint, and Inkscape.

Just curious as to the possible reason ...maybe the kernel used doesn't have the alternative art tablet driver packages included?

Anyway just dropped back to version 7

Have you tried installing xserver-xorg-input-wacom-hwe-16.04 ?

Or is it already installed ?

I will have to check when I get a chance to do another test of version 8. Version 7 works so well that I am happy to run with it.

No worries, if you're happy with PM7 stick with it :)
