Title: recent files launcher [SOLVED]
Post by: siawacsh on May 01, 2017, 01:39:53 pm
Hi, I nearly have every thing sorted on my peppermint 7 with the exception of two issues one of which is to create a launcher for recently used files. I have been using the below tutorial.

https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/199542/how-to-create-a-launcher-to-show-recent-files

And it works only for one irritating  behavior. It throws recent files by icon and I would prefer to see them in a column list format. I can change it to list view using the icons at the top right. But when I close the list and relaunch the view defaults back to icon view. So my question is whether there is a way to display the recent files in list view by default.?

Thank you in advance.

Are you using nemo (default file manager) or nautilus (as per your link) to display the recent folder ?

What is the contents of the launcher you created ?

And what's the output from:
Code: [Select]
ls -al ~/ | grep .local && ls -l ~/.local | grep share && ls -l ~/.local/share | grep gvfs-metadata && ls -al ~/.local/share/gvfs-metadata

pluma ~/.local/share/applications/recent-files.desktopand change it's contents from:
Code: [Select]
