Title: [SOLVED] How do I install a theme?
Post by: Aero9000 on February 13, 2017, 09:50:34 am
Reading this (https://forum.peppermintos.com/index.php/topic,4812.msg47982.html#msg47982), I downloaded the Breeze theme, but the instructions on the Breeze download page don't work in Peppermint. So what is the proper procedure for installing themes?

Download the Breeze theme HERE (https://github.com/dirruk1/gnome-breeze/archive/master.zip)

Extract the .zip there in your Downloads folder

Open a terminal and run...
Code: [Select]
sudo mv ~/Downloads/gnome-breeze-master/Breeze-gtk /usr/share/themes
then
Code: [Select]
sudo mv ~/Downloads/gnome-breeze-master/Breeze-dark-gtk /usr/share/themes
then open Customize Look and Feel and select your new theme
then customize as per VinDsl's instructions

Alternately, you can also create a folder in your /home folder called .themes and just unzip the theme there without elevated permissions, though there are a few limitations to that.  For one, only one user account (yours) will have access to the theme.  Though, if you only have one user account on your system, that won't be an issue.

Marked as [SOLVED].

Actually I posted this topic in the hopes of resolving another issue, but to no avail
