Title: Pep OS community: Give Thanks!!
Post by: _tuter on June 19, 2014, 03:00:03 pm
I would just like to send my deepest thanks to all of the the Administrators, Trusted Users, and Global moderators for all of their help when it comes to noobs!! They are ALL understanding and most definitely willing to help in any they they can!!! :D I am very happy with the atmosphere on this forum. All of the people are friendly, kind, and caring. I have yet to see this type of attitude towards "noobs" on almost any other forum. So i would love to specifically point out PCNetSpec for his/hers very detailed and noob friendly tutorials on any and all issues ranging from simple to complex. Also I would like to thank all of the Devs for this WONDERFUL Distro, I know Kendall is very understanding and always willing to find/give solutions to whatever issue needs it. I also want to thank ALL of the other contributors (I don't know who they all are, sorry) for their help, advice, and expertise!!

So if there is anyone you would like to give special thanks to for help they may have provided for you, Don't Hesitate!!

Thank you all,
_tuter

I would like to add my Mega-Thanks here too!

The support, understanding and level of knowledge among the support staff is truly over-the-top!  The quick response time and the spot-on answers were unexpected but greatly appreciated.

I understand all too well the pressures and issues with being a Mod, Global Mod or volunteer helper.  I'm a co-founder and retired Global Mod of an internet forum with about 25,000 members.

Thank You For Being Here!   :P

Proof is in the pudding.

>  Just converted my Acer Aspire 1 D257 completely over the this wonderful Peppermint 5, installing over the MS Windows 7 starter. [was dual boot before].

>  I prefer this netbook with the Chromium Aura browser over my Acer ChromeBook and my HP ChromeBox.

>  Purchased the USB stick.

An Acer Aspire One is what brought me to Peppermint in the first place (Linpus Lite was just awful), and I still use it as my everyday PC  .. obviously it's running Peppermint 5 now :)

Hey PCNetSpec>>

I have an older HP netbook 1000 that I also use Peppermint Ice on .. that is in the kitchen for quick emailing, light browsing, and listening to Pandora... the OS updates still every now and then, and so stable too.

Just got tired of Windows on so many levels, combined with all my computing now revolves around Google and the cloud based applications, plus the support and stability and ease of use of Peppermint 5 was an easy choice for my conversion.  The 5 years of support was the final straw that pushed me over.

Ironically outside of dressing up the panel and a few tweaks as you guys provided, the major of time I am in the Chromium browser.  And I must say 8 times out of 10 if I have a question about the operating system, it is answered in either another post by you, or directly from you to me.  I factor you in in that 5 years of support.

Regards from across the pond here in the lovely Fingers Lake Region of NY.

Ron

Hi folks, thank you very much to the creator of peppermint and peppermint 5, it has replaced mint 17, as the speed and usefulness is outstanding.
Tried lubuntu 14.04, it's good, but not as nice as this peppermint 5.
Maybe my parents will switch over to peppermint 5, as i got them both liking and using mint 13 and now mint 17 for some time now, maybe the speed boost and nice effects, etc. will sway them, will see, hehe.
Sharing Freely is the ticket to a nice today and tomorrow.
peace love light

I have to agree with the OP .
Everything about Peppermint has a good vibe ,
from the O.S  to the forums.
It's good all round.

After a couple of months of happy usage - I'm more impressed than ever with Peppermint Linux!

It's been 15 to 20 years since I previously used Linux (San Francisco Bay Area - even got to talk with Linus Torvalds a few times there) and the OS has come a long ways.  It's ALWAYS been stable, it's just more user friendly now.
