Title: [SOLVED] WDC WD5000BPKT - 2.5" my laptop's HDD makes a weird click sound.

Hello friends . I have a western digital 500 gb 7200 rpm mobile 2.5"" hardisk on my laptop.  I read to many page on the net but I can't not find solution for this weird sound yet.

When I don't use ten minutes my machine than my hard disk doing weird click sound. I hope somebodies have a like this thing and i hope we can find a answer for this.

I tried hdparm things. But it's still same. Every i tried linux distro's has a this thing.  8)

See if disabling advanced power management for your WD drive makes a difference...

Open the "Disks" utility .. highlight your WD drive in the left hand column .. click the little 'hamburger' button on the titlebar and select "Drive Settings" .. on the 'APM' tab, set the switch to OFF.

'APM' tab is already closed. I don't touch it.

have you tried option number 10 on this website Some laptops: hard disk constantly clicks and spins up and down

Yeah i tried. It doesn't work. But i think disk utility systems may change it. I will organize my hdd and than i'll search again.

This problem solved! In the end, i did this three settings from to disk manager than harddisk is working like on windows vista or 7. Every ten seconds clicking normally like in working windows , sounds is good . Not seems like that bad *gurk sound.  :P :D :)
