Absolutely loving Pepp 7. 10/10 to the team!

I've done a bit of customising-

Here's my desktop.  I've stuck with one of the default wallpapers just because I think Ray Bilcliff's (https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/+raybilcliff) photos are stunning  ;).

Widget is: Peppermix-Dark-7-Red, Icon Theme is: Peppermix -7,  The wallpaper is Beachfront_(image_by_Ray_Bilcliff).jpg.  This is in the default wallpaper selection.  It's a photo of Whitley Bay in the North East of England.  I've installed Docky instead of Plank this time, just for a change.  The Conky set is: Gold And Grey Conky (http://www.noobslab.com/2014/03/gold-and-grey-conky-displays-detailed.html).  This is actually five separate Conky displays that have been custom positioned.  The package screenruler is very useful to do this.
Code: [Select]
sudo apt install screenruler
.

Here is the Whisker Menu with Panel positioned at the top of the screen.  I've turned off: Show application descriptions in the menu Properties.  The panel is set to autohide because I'm using a laptop and real estate is at a premium.  You can see the items I've added to the Panel

The Sakura terminal has been customized to launch with a custom geometry, four tabs and screenfetch (http://tuxtweaks.com/2013/12/install-screenfetch-linux/).  The terminal font and size is Teminus, 13.  The palette is xterm.

Hi All

Nice Setups joeSH  8) and AndyinMokim  8)

I always know what I like and I can plagiarise like a Pro.  I just I wish I had some artistic flair to come up with my own ideas.

It's why I have to trawl posts like these to get inspiration  :)

Regards Zeb...

Thanks ZEBEDEEBOSS and hats off to ANDYINMOKUM, the conky is spot on!  8)

I've had a bit of a go at conky but I didn't really want to mess too much without knowing exactly what to do. It would be great to have a step by step to follow.  :-\

In Nemo, go to:-

Edit > Preferences > Behaviour (tab)

And tick:-

Always start in dual pane view

Or if you want to split the view manually .. just hit F3

Andy how do you use screenruler to move the conky around and find the other themes?
You don't use the screenruler to move the Conky instances.  It's used to help calculate the positions and spacing.  You know you can open multiple instances of screenruler and have them orientated vertically or horizontally.

To move the Conky instances, you need to go into the config files and position each of the five Conky instances by altering the X and Y axises and their alignment.  I'm assuming you've installed this Conky.  These five files are contained in:
Code: [Select]
nemo ~/.conkyrc
Here's an example.  I'm using my CPU Conky instance:
Quote
# SETTINGS #
background no
update_interval 0.5
cpu_avg_samples 2
net_avg_samples 2
double_buffer yes
no_buffers yes
text_buffer_size 1024

# WINDOW #
own_window yes
own_window_type override
own_window_transparent yes
own_window_hints undecorate,sticky,skip_taskbar,skip_pager,below

# BORDER #
border_inner_margin 1
border_outer_margin 1

# SIZE #
minimum_size 185
maximum_width 185

# ALIGNMENT #
alignment tr
gap_x 195
gap_y 28

# GRAPHIC #
draw_shades no
draw_outline no
draw_borders no
draw_graph_borders no
#default_bar_size 40 8
#default_shade_color
#own_window_colour 808080

# TEXT #
use_xft yes
xftfont Dejavu Sans:size=6
xftalpha 0.8
uppercase no
override_utf8_locale yes
default_color 666

# LUA #
#lua_load ~/Conky/bgcolor/bg.lua
#lua_draw_hook_pre conky_draw_bg

# Colors #

TEXT
${font  Poky:size=20}P${voffset -3}${font Impact:size=16}$color1${goto 30}${cpu cpu0}${goto 60}${color}%${color1}${goto 90}${font}${voffset -10}${top name 1}${alignr}${top cpu 1}$color

${voffset -10}$color1${cpugraph 15,80}$color${goto 90}${voffset 10}${top name 4}${alignr}${top cpu 4}${voffset -25}
The lines highlighted in red determine the position.  The screen is divided into 6 quadrants.  This particular Conky instance is in the Top Right quadrant as indicated in the line highlighted in green.  Here is a link to my .conkyrc folder containing my customized positions for all five Conky instances: https://mega.nz/#F!v4tlUJaZ!YrLxgZkQZTFExkw3XfILHg (https://mega.nz/#F!v4tlUJaZ!YrLxgZkQZTFExkw3XfILHg).  Download the zip file and open it.  I hope this helps - good luck and have fun  ;).
